    Item 1743
Please note all pictures on our site are of the actual piece you will receive, not a stock photo of a similar piece.  Additionally all our pieces unless marked otherwise are fully restored and seasoned.  Just wash them and start cooking.

This is a set of 5 different Nathaniel Waterman gem pans (3 of them clearly marked N. Waterman and one R & E mfg with the same patent date – Many do believe that Russell & Erwin Manufacturing made all of Nate Waterman’s gem pans, the 5th is unmarked but end gated, which would be very unusual for a recast and it is full sized) made between 1859-1860s.  Waterman is credited with being the originator of the gem pan – decorative baking pans originally used to make small cookie type desert pastries called “gems”.  They are pretty little things great for baking, chocolate or candy making, or even making soap.  Plus they are so pretty they’ll be great wall hangers too.  All are end gated as typical of Waterman pieces.

Markings are on the handles and on four of the five read “N. Waterman Boston, Patent April 5, 1859”  The other reads “R & E Mfg Co. Patent April 5, 1859”.

    Included are the following.
Pattern #2 – Biscuit gem pan with round cups (11 slots – each 3” 1/4 diameter)
    Pattern #4 – The “Football” pan with large football shaped cups (8 of them – each 4” 1/4 x 2” 1/2)
    Pattern #6 – rounded rectangular cup (12 slot – each roughly 2” 7/8 x 1” 7/8) gem pan.  (This is the one marked R & E)
    Pattern #7 – A larger rectangular rounded cup (8 slot – each roughly 3” 7/8 x 2” 5/8 ) gem pan
    Pattern #8 – A smaller egg shaped cup (11 slot – each roughly 3” x 2” 1/4) gem pan

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

No cracks or chips.   In great shape.

Both a senior sized (the largest one they made) and the junior version (which is the one most consider to be the normal size) corn stick pan, or as they called it, the Krusty Korn Kobs pan.  The senior is considerably larger than the much junior sized, and is the hardest one to find.  Large one features 7 corn sticks, each the size of a real ear of corn, while the smaller is, well smaller.

Marked (senior):  “Krusty Korn Kobs Reg. in U.S. Pat Off” then has the Wagner Ware Sidney -O- trademark followed by the catalog number “1318” with an underline, and then “Pat’D July 6, 1920”
Marked (Junior):  “Junior Krusty Korn Kobs Reg. in U.S. Pat Off” then has the Wagner Ware Sidney -O- trademark followed by the catalog number “1319” mold mark “C”, and then “Pat’D July 6, 1920”

Senior ~ 15” long x 7” wide.  Each “Kob” is 6” 1/2 long. (excluding tabs)
    Junior ~ 11” 1/2 x 5” 7/8.  Each Kob is 5” 1/2.  Excluding tabs

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

  • 1928-ugly-stepchild-mixed-set-3-7-801

    Item #1928

Please note all pictures on our site are of the actual piece you will receive, not a stock photo of a similar piece.  Additionally all our pieces unless marked otherwise are fully restored and seasoned.  Just wash them and start cooking.

Here is an ugly stepchild set.  Not a pretty set, they have some flaws, minor pits, roughness to the metal, plating that is largely gone, but they are cheap.  With some use they should be great users for camping, or kitchen use.  Please look at the picture as on these sets they are really the description.

In the set you’ll find a #3 skillet (6” 1/2), #7 skillet (10”), and #8 skillet (10” 1/2).  These all have usable cook surfaces but they are not pretty to look at and have flaws.
In the set are a Lodge, or Lodge clone 3p skillet, a Griswold small block #7 skillet, and a Lodge “Snowman” #8 skillet (the 8 looks oddly like a snowman).

Sizes from 6” – 10” 1/2 diameter on the skillets.

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

No cracks, chips.  The 8 sits flat, the other two have small wobbles.  Usable cooking surface with flaws.  Should only get better with use.
