Knife has been professionally restored, polished and sharpened it is RAZOR SHARP. It may have some nicks and scars from use.
Long before Ka-Bar started making the iconic USMC military knife they made kitchen knives. This is a 1930-1940s era carving knife with a chromium coated high carbon steel blade. Chromium has scratches (someone took a tool to it) in it which have penetrated through to the steel underneath making it far less of a pretty blade than some of the Case, and other Ka-bar knives with the coating intact. Half tang, double riveted. Good price for a good knife.
Marked: “Carbon Ka-Bar Chrome”
$30 shipped. (buy this knife with Ka-Bar item # 1041 and get a $10 rebate on the pair)
*High carbon steel knives are highly sought after knives loved by professional and home cooks alike due to the quality of the steel, the edge it maintains and the hardness that is not matched by other knives. If you don’t believe me, take a look the opinions of Alton Brown. Please note these are NOT stainless steel knives, they do require a little bit of care (prompt washing and drying after use, occasional sharpening, etc), but hey, if you can maintain a cast iron pan you’ll find this a piece of cake. Over time they will develop a patina, and even stain. But they are probably the best quality steel knives you’ll ever use.
As always we are happy to combine shipping, as well as take back pieces if you are not satisfied. (Please see return policy)

Lightly cleaned.
Knife block by Case for four knives and a sharpening steel (and if you need some case knives or a Case sharpening steel for it, I can help with that too). Think the block is walnut but I’m not an expert on wood. Can be used on the countertop or wall mounted. Has 4 feet for protecting the surface underneath.

This is an old forged mezzaluna/ulu style knife made for rolling to chop or scraping. I do not believe this is a hand forged piece due to the thinness of the steel which appears to be cut. There are old style pins securing this blade and I cannot believe it is less than 100 years old
Blade is roughly 7” 3/8 long and it is set about 4” 3/8 away from the handle which is ~ 8” 3/4 long.

Some of you may not know this but I love old kitchen knives. Old carbon steel blades were probably some of the best blades ever made for kitchen use. They keep an edge well, are easy to touch up with a steel (or ceramic), and cut better than almost anything made today. Most professional chefs, love and pamper their carbon steel knives as lesser replacement knives can cost anywhere from $150-500 each.
Good quality carbon steel with a nice hand feel. This one is perfect for light kitchen duties. Maker is unknown but the quality is certainly here.
Knife features half tang, 5” 1/2 blade, brass rivets, and original scales (handles) and a two rivet securing design. Ready for use.
Weighs 5 ounces.

Disston is better known as a tool maker than a knife maker, in fact I’ve NEVER seen a Disston knife of this type before. Made of high carbon steel this has a mezzaluna/ulu/chopper type design. It’s a beautiful knife looking for a new home.

This rolling, six bladed (really five as one is a single piece) chopping knife was patented and designed by Nathanial Streeter as a vegetable and meat cutter in 1893. They were manufactured in Groton, NY. This one is in excellent shape and could be used with just a good washing. Iron handle, steel blades. Great for mincing or chopping herbs..
