  • mystery feeder21

    Item 1021

Please note all our pieces unless marked otherwise are fully restored and seasoned.  Just wash them and start cooking.

This one is a bit of a mystery piece – we’re not quite sure what it really is.  All I can say for sure is that it came out of an old farmhouse barn in CT that was built in 1820.  Guesses have included a animal feeder or watering bucket, ash catch tray for under a wood stove, even a refrigerator pan.  It might be one of those or something else entirely.  In any case it’s a very cool piece.  The center hook mechanism is pinned and swings like a hinge upright to an almost 90 degree angle.  Oval in shape with one raised side and a slot on the underside where the piece clearly locks into something else.  Casting shows a pouring flaw opposite the bottom gate mark.  Some minor pitting present Casting quality is good.

Marked: “21-163 on the interior bottom of the bucket part.

    11” 1/2 x 10” 3/8 x 4” high

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

No cracks, chips.  Sits on it’s gate marks so there is wobble when tested on a sheet of glass.

    $100 including shipping.

Really just a bit of cast iron art.  This plate belonged to a cast iron stove and depicts a cabin in the woods among the hills and has a very winterish feel to it.  A pretty little piece which just caught my eye as I knew someone would really enjoy it.

  • #783 Spider skillet 10 inch with crack display piece - 1

    DISPLAY PIECE.

A display piece that will look great in any kitchen. This is an old spider skillet which was made for hearth or fireside cooking.  It looks primitive and is not suitable for using without a repair so it has been made ready for display.  Sits on three triangular legs.  Gate marked on the bottom.  We are calling this a display piece because of a small (slightly larger than a pinhole) hole in one wall.

    9” 7/8 diameter, 5” 1/4 tall.  Handle is 7 long.

Cleaned via electrolysis and painted to prevent rust for display.

    $45.99 shipped

  • 1934-unmarked-7-favorite-handled-griddle1

    Item 1934
Please note all pictures on our site are of the actual piece you will receive, not a stock photo of a similar piece.  Additionally all our pieces unless marked otherwise are fully restored and seasoned.  Just wash them and start cooking.

Favorite never made a handled griddle smaller than this one and it is a VERY uncommon piece as it is even smaller than the Wagner #6 round griddle.  You can still see the ghost of where the Favorite Piqua Ware was blocked out on this skillet.  Made between 1916-1934.  This one is a true collector piece in outstanding condition.  Sits flat, great polishing marks (often incorrectly called mill marks) and a glassy cooking surface.  Ready to be used or hung on a wall.  Only flaws on this piece are flea bite tool marks (very fine) and typical casting flaws.  The stone polished cooking surface (factory done) is beautiful.  Bottom shows that the polishing was only done on the cooking surface.  Really a special piece.

Marked: “7” with what appears to be half a “B” on the bottom, where you can also see where the Favorite Piqua Ware logo was blocked out..

    8” 5/8 diameter

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

No cracks, chips, bow or wobble when tested on a sheet of glass.   Cooking surface is glassy with very few flea bite tool marks.  Will only get better with use.

    $135 shipped

As always we are happy to take back pieces if you are not 100% satisfied.  (Please see return policy)

  • 1916-unmarked-flip-flop-waffle-iron-781

    Item 1916

Collector Grade!  Flip Flop waffle iron by an uncertain foundry.  Some people say this design was made by Atlanta Stove Works, but as it is unmarked I cannot say for sure.  I have to say I love this piece – especially due to the diamond shape pattern which comes out on your waffle.  In great shape with the correct handled base.  Appears to have been sprue poured and vented on the side.  Really a nice collector piece and a great user too.  ** Note there is a casting flaw that looks crack-like on the face but it is not cracked – it is just a flaw.

Marked: “7-8” in raised letters on one paddle.  Base is unmarked.

Paddles are 6” 3/4 diameter (excluding ears and hinge), base is 8” 1/8 diameter

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

No cracks, chips.  Iron on cooking surface is in amazing shape and should only improve with use.

    $95 shipped
