This is a pre-Lodge piece made by them when they were still the Blacklock foundry of Pittsburgh, TN. They were renamed Lodge after rebuilding following a fire in the 1907-8. That makes these some of the oldest Lodge pieces known to exist. This is a large sad iron with the Blacklock name in raised letters on the handle. This appears to be have been cast in two pieces and then assembled.
Marked: “Blacklock” in raised letters (and someone painted them red)
6” x 4” excluding handles.
