Never heard of a meat juice press? Well here you go. While this thing would make a great press for orange juice or other citrus, it was designed for making consumme, and broth as well as to extract marrow from soft bones after they were boiled – essentially putting as much flavor into the meat juice (think gravy) as could be extracted, as well as nutrition. This one is fully restored and in working order. It was designed for both kitchen and medical use.Its a very cool display piece even if you never try to use it. There are four pieces to the press, the frame, screw down, handled pressing plate, and a cup to collect the juice. All four piece are present and in excellent shape.
Marked: on the frame ”H.F. Osborne Newark N.J. USA” on one side “Patent Meat Juice Press”. On the underside of the handled press plate it reads “Pat. Mar. 1884”
Base is 4” 1/2 diameter and 5” 1/2 high. Screw down adds 2” minimum when all the way in.
Base has been cleaned and painted with food safe enamel, plated press plates were just cleaned. Wash it and it’s ready for use.
No cracks, chips or notable flaws.
As always we are happy to take back pieces if you are not 100% satisfied. (Please see return policy)
