The perfect set for making your morning (or afternoon/evening) bacon. Comes with a
nice Norpro round bacon press with image of a pig and wooden handle the perfect fitting #8 Griswold small logo skillet made between 1955-1957. Both are fully restored and ready for use. The press is probably 1970s and made for Norpro in Taiwan. The skillet has an almost glassy cooking surface with very nice polishing marks (often mistakenly called mill marks), but has some minor to moderate tool marks that should fill in with some regular use. I expect this one will turn glassy just through use. Not ideal for a glass top stove as there is an extremely tiny wobble.
Skillet Marked: “8” on the top of the handle and “No. 8” Followed by the Griswold small logo then “Erie PA 704 I” on the bottom of the pan.
Press Marked: “Norpro Bacon Press Taiwan” on the top side. Bottom side says “Bacon Press” and has a pig image.
Skillet is 10” 5/8 diameter excluding pour spouts and handle.
Press is 9” diameter. 3” 3/4 tall.
Iron has been cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil. Wood handle was just wiped with food grade mineral oil.
No cracks, chips. Extremely small center bow cause a small wobble on a sheet of glass. Cooking surface shows light to moderate tool marks that should fill in and reduce with use. I expect this one to turn glassy with just a little regular use.
As always we are happy to take back pieces if you are not 100% satisfied. (Please see return policy)
