Ok, I’m re-listing this one. It’s possibly one of the most special pieces we’ve ever found, a definite rarity and something really special and we’ve never seen another one like this, and a real curiosity to boot. Clearly based on an Erie second series pattern this Wapak has 4 distinct ghost marks – Erie, Wagner arc logo, and what appears to be the more central “Wapak” logo although only the quotes really are visible leaving us to wonder if maybe it was the “Sidney” instead as the pattern clearly was passed though at least 3 foundries. Perhaps more intriguing is that the shield “Maker” mark from the original Erie pattern is still quite visible. Even without all of those enigmas, this is a beautiful skillet with a good cooking surface, outset heat ring, reenforced handle pad, and which sits nice and flat on the heat ring.
Marked: “Wapak” (no quotes) and “7” in the Erie font, along with the Erie shield maker mark on the bottom. Ghost marks of Erie, the Wagner arc logo and a set of quotes all contribute to the intrigue of this skillet.
9” 5/8 diameter
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks, chips or wobble. Small center bows credit card tested.. Cooking surface is glassy but has plenty of flea bite tool marks that should fill in with use. Should only improve with use.
As always we are happy to take back pieces if you are not 100% satisfied. (Please see return policy)
