This is a promotional advertising skillet made for Dwight Eisenhower’s 1952 presidential run for president. This is a VERY rare piece as not a single cast iron collector or any of the presidential collectors we have spoken to have ever seen one. It appears to have been cast by Martin Stove and Range in Birmingham Alabama based on the design and style. It looks like it was originally plated with brass and swathes of it remain and what is left is a very cool patina. This is a special piece for any collector.
These are works of art. Very finely cast with incredible detail.
You do find some wonderful non cast iron things when you go picking and this is one which honestly will make the most amazing spoon rest. This one is in the design of a dog on point. Can’t tell if it is a spaniel or pointer but the detail is excellent.

You do find some wonderful cast iron things when you go picking and today I’ll be listing three old pipe rests, which honestly will make the most amazing spoon rests. These are 125-150 years old each. This one is in the design of a man smoking a pipe with excellent detail. Casting quality is extraordinary. These were small lot poured rather than mass produced.
