Lightly cleaned. Sold as found. Could be used right away.
Alaska Ice Breaker – ice crusher made by Alaska Freezer Co Art Deco – Mid century modern era. This is a tabletop model I imagine would have been on someone’s home bar back in the day. Just drop in some ice cubes turn the crank and voila! crushed ice. The company that made these existed from the 1920s to the 1950s so the styling is somewhere between art deco and Midcentury modern. This one doesn’t need much work at all. Plated iron and what appears to be an enameled steel base.
Marked: “Alaska Ice Breaker model 38 – then has the parts numbers on each part 50CB3, 38CB2, 38CB1 (which presumably is the model number then Crusher Base 1-2-3 and the then the handle) which is marked 2.38A8.

Alexanderwerks is a foundry started in 1885 in Germany. The founder Alexander von der Nahmer, brought back the idea of a hand cranked meat grinder from America and decided to make his own in his factory in Germany. They made a lot of home kitchen products including meat grinders (yes, we have some if you’d like) and this fruit juicer which is pretty cleverly designed, with the juice coming out one end and the pulped fruit out another (near the crank). These in German are called beerenpress, which may have something do with brewing, or maybe with berries. Alexanderwerk is still in business today.
Marked: “Alexanderwerk 376”

Blacksmith made wrought iron straight skewer over 15” long with the number 19 marked in the side. I suspect this was made for cooking meat, but I’m not 100% sure on that. Has a large circular ring with a 2” 1/2 diameter for gripping on one end. VERY sharp.
Only marking is the number 19 which appears to have been hammered into the iron using a die. Because of that, and the fact it is blacksmith work it was probably made after 1850, but prior to 1870, when cheaper man made wire would have been available for use for items like this.
15” 1/4 long
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks or chips.

Cleaned to remove exterior rust, lightly cleaned face.
Old Chatillion Iron Clad certified trade scale – approved type 34 NY City and Penna Stamps on face. For 1-200 lbs. In working shape but I have no idea how accurate it still is. This is a heck of a display piece and I have no doubt you could restore it to working shape if you so desired. Heavy as heck due to the cast iron casing, hooks and drop block.
hanging height including rings and hooks ~ 17” 1/2
Exterior cleaned of rust.
In great shape.

Ok, yeah we mainly sell CI but sometimes as we search out good CI for you all we stumble across some cool non-cast iron pieces kitchen ware that is just too cool not to share.
Old juicer which I’d guess dates back between 1870-1900 based on the design, finish, hinge and screws. Looks to be hardwood, but I’m no expert on wood.
A bit of kitchen Americana, and while it certainly seems usable I’d put it on display.

This is an oldie – and in truth I didn’t even want to attempt restoration as it would have meant dismounting this gorgeous piece of the coffee makers art. This was saved from a demolition of a 18th century farmhouse. Carriage bolts holding it to the wood are blacksmith made, as is the nut attaching the handle to the body, and the wood itself is adze formed so it’s probably pre-1900 and maybe pre 1850. It could definitely use some oiling – but the handle turns and the piece is in remarkably good shape. Taking this back to working shape would take very little time (and we can do it for an additional fee if you so desire) but this is a piece of history and it should be displayed somewhere. Name plate is peened into place and appears to be brass or copper. Hopper is steel. Piece seems to have most of the original japanning or paint. S. shaped handle with wooden handle.
Marked: “King’s Improved Patent Coffee Mill”
Body approximately 6” long, 6” tall, handle is 5” long with wooden knob.
Unrestored
No cracks or chips. Designed to be counter or wall hung.
