This is an English made bowl shaped kettle with a lid. I do not believe this to be a marriage of pieces, as I know of at least three found with exactly this same pairing, all with the marked bowls which say “Made in England”. Odds are that this was an export piece and because of the three leaf clover design, I think it was likely made by Swain, who produced iron cookware from at least 1840-to WW I. I have no evidence that they made cookware after that time, but apparently they continued on until at least the 1950s as the Railroad Foundry (A name that suggests they switched over to making railroad products). But Swain used the three leaf clover design on all of their cookware that I’ve seen. There is a stamp, that looks like it probably had either the size or the manufacturer name on it, in the plaque/cartouche style on the other side but it is not readable.
The kettle looks lot like what we’d call a scotch bowl but with no rim, ring, or large flat base to make it steady on a flat surface (although it does stand upright), or hold it in place in s stove eye, like similar American made pieces. Instead the design is very precise and elegant. It stands straight on a very narrow, curve of the bottom, and would fit inside a stove eye of certain diameter. I think this would work well on a gas range, but would be a little too treacherous. Neither piece is gate marked on the bottom suggesting the casting was made after 1900 (several others of these lids I have seen are gated, so it suggests this design was used for a fair while).
Marked: “Made in England” the Eng in England is hard to read, but having seen others of this type I can verify that it says England, not Finland. The cartouche on the other side has been clear in not a single piece I’ve seen. So what it said is up in the air.
8” 3/4 diameter ~ 4” deep
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks, chips, not a piece that wobble really applies to. Cooking surface is smooth and polished.

Please note there are three of these and they are pretty much identical.
I can’t find out a lot about Lavec. Information is quite muddled, they were apparently attached to company called Scandia, which either was, or was not, a front for a company known as Franklin Cast Products of Warwick, RI. There is still a company called Scandia in Australia which told someone online that they used to be the same company as Lavec. In either case they are very nice commercial grade cast iron baking dishes, and they are available cheap. Finish is comparable to modern Lodge. Casting quality is very good.
Marked: “Lavec 20” on the bottom
9” 3/8 (almost 20 cm) long x 5” 1/4 wide
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks, chips.. Cooking surface is similar to modern lodge, with a pebbly to the touch cooking surface. Will improve with use.

Very nice Lodge 7 stick corn stick mold. Lodge made these for decades. This is probably a 1970s one. Has seven corn shaped molds all facing in the same direction. Two round feet on the bottom keep the pan evenly balanced

Collector Grade! Showpiece! #2 abelskiver (danish pancake or apple pancake) or egg poaching pan made by NAC & Co over 100 years ago. NAC & Co is one of those foundries we know very little about, not even what the name stands for, that is kind of sad as they produced some outstanding pieces – notably their aebelskiver pans. This is an outstanding example. Features 7 wells and a unique handle design meant to keep the handle cooler. Designed for wood stove use – pan was almost certainly made between 1880-1915. Beautifully smoothed with an outstanding finish. (NOTE we have the #1 size version of this pan as well but it is not ready yet)
Marked: “2 NAC & Co” on the bottom.
9” 5/8 across excluding handle.
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks, chips. Sits on the center cup which is a touch deeper than the other wells, so it does wobble on a sheet of glass, which is hardly surprising as it was designed for wood stove use.

Item 1861

Sold as found. Lightly oiled.
Antique coffee roaster/nut roaster. This was made for use over a open fire cna could have been used over a camp fire or in a hearth, and almost certainly was made before 1850. Wooden handle appears to have been repaired several times. Hand peened blacksmith made wrought iron rod connecting the handle to the roaster. Sliding door. This one has had a good life and would look great hung up for display. Very long so it will be a bit harder to ship.
Steel is good with just minor surface rust, there is a hole at the seam, that looks to have been made when the piece was crushed a bit, it is not due to rust. (See pictures)
Overall length 37” canister is just over 7” long with a diameter of 5” 3/4

Antique coffee roaster with base. I don’t know a darn thing about it except that it is cool and will make a great display piece. This one has had a good life and would look great hung up for display or it could easily be cleaned up. I’d consider painting this one, as I think it would be amazing restored.
Steel is good with just minor surface rust, no holes or anything more than the dents and dings of 100+ years.
Base is roughly 11x 8, canister is 8” 3/4 x 5” 1/4

Nice unmarked French loaf pan, ready for use. Great for rolls, brownies, cookies, candy making or even making soap. Totally unmarked but it is in the Wagner/Griswold New England Style and it could have been made by one of those foundries. Probably was made without markings to be a store brand. Open frame gap between cups for even heat distribution. Very nicely cast and polished. Really a quality piece. Aside from one interesting casting flaw this is pretty much perfect.
Unmarked
12” 3/4 x 7”
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks, or chips. Small wobble on the short axis when tested on a sheet of glass. Outstanding smoothness to the casting.

13” 3/4 x 10” 7/8 x 8” 1/2 on the rectangle. Stove eye drop is 7” 1/2 diameter x 2” deep.
Unrestored – sold as found.
Museum level display piece. Well over 150 years old. This is a really unusual piece, neither Henry nor I have ever seen one of these before. It’s a rectangular pot with an eccentric bottom on one end, meaning that it has a round lower piece that was designed to be dropped into a stove eye. Has the original tinned steel lid, and is bottom gated. Based on the stove eye drop and the hand wrought bail this piece has to have been made between 1820-1860. New England style ears with unique reinforcing style. Sadly it has a crack on the bottom, so using it would require a repair first (and it might be worth doing), but as a display piece it’s just amazing – and so unique that you probably will not see another one. Hand wrought bail with wooden handle. See pictures.

Beautiful Wood, Bishop and Co French Roll pan with 12 slots. Ready for use or as a wall hanger, but you can of course do both. This one is pretty much as nice as you will find. Gorgeous metal well cast and smoothed. A collector grade piece. Looks to be very similar to the Griswold 11 – right down to the handle shape but it is larger. Four bottom gate marks.
Please note all our pieces unless marked otherwise are fully restored and seasoned. Just wash them and start cooking.
Marked: “WB & Co” on the center bar down the top.

Can you imagine making your morning toast using this old frontier/hearth toaster? Slice your bread and put the slices into the rotating end piece, sit it down near your cookfire and wait until one side was done before turning the end piece 180 degrees to toast the other side. Pretty darn cool. This one predates the invention of the household stove in the 1830s. A blacksmith made piece, this probably belonged to a fairly well off family who had the wherewithal and room to own a gadget like this back at a time when most folks were toasting their bread in a skillet.
Sold unrestored in perfect working shape. This one would be great for historical reenactment, or used as a display piece.
$225 shipping included in price.
