Blacksmith made wrought Iron skewer marked #19. 15” 1/4 long c. 1850-1870

$40.00

Item 1991
Please note all pictures on our site are of the actual piece you will receive, not a stock photo of a similar piece.  Additionally all our pieces unless marked otherwise are fully restored and seasoned.  Just wash them and start cooking.

Blacksmith made wrought iron straight skewer over 15” long with the number 19 marked in the side.  I suspect this was made for cooking meat, but I’m not 100% sure on that.   Has a large circular ring with a 2” 1/2 diameter for gripping on one end.  VERY sharp.
Only marking is the number 19 which appears to have been hammered into the iron using a die.  Because of that, and the fact it is blacksmith work it was probably made after 1850, but prior to 1870, when cheaper man made wire would have been available for use for items like this.

15” 1/4 long

Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.

No cracks or chips.

$40 shipped

As always we are happy to take back pieces if you are not 100% satisfied.  (Please see return policy)
