Absolutely gorgeous!
This might well be one of the oldest copper pieces I’ve found as the handle style suggest it is at least 150 years old. Dovetailed bottom, smith made beaten handle that looks like copper, but could be bronze. Handle has the number 22 marked in it. Very heavy piece weighing almost 3 1/2 pounds. Probably French in origin. I have not even cleaned it, but it looks like the tinning probably should be redone.
No markings save the 22 on the handle.
7” 3/8 diameter, 4” deep, 9” 1/2 handle
Unrestored. Sold as found.
