Please note all pictures on our site are of the actual piece you will receive, not a stock photo of a similar piece.
This is not a fully restored piece, but a mostly restored piece, as we did not want to risk damaging it by disassembling it. It has been cleaned, oiled, and returned to full working condition. but there may be some.
Collector piece! Apple parer/peeler patented 1882 by Hudson Parer based on the design from Horatio Keyes of Leominster, MA who patented the first parer in 1852. Hudson has been an employee of Lockley and Howland who had first produced parers based on the original patent. Hudson launched using his own patents and produced some very nice parers including this one, one of his earliest. This parer has been cleaned, oiled and returned to working condition. It can be used as great display piece, or even used if you so desire. Nicely figural, this is a great collectable kitchen item.
Marked (line by line): “Mfd by Hudson Parer Co. Leominster Mass, Pat’d Jan 24, 82”
This one is complete –it has been cleaned and returned to full working condition. This one can be used in your kitchen or can just be an amazing decorative piece.
No cracks, chips, or defects noted. Iron is in exceptional shape with no pitting or obvious flaws. Even has the blade that was original to it.
Cleaned via lye method and seasoned with non-GMO canola oil. This is restored – except for the blade which was cleaned but not sharpened again – but it’s still plenty sharp.
As always we are happy to take back pieces if you are not 100% satisfied. (Please see return policy)
