I’ve seen three versions of this skillet, one by Otter River foundry in MA that was marked Patent Pending, an unnamed version also marked Patent Pending, and this one, marked Squareg Atlas-Ansonia Co, in New Haven, CT and also marked Patent Pending and they appear to be identical. My first impression was that Atlas-Ansonia Co was a factor selling Otter River pans, but research suggest that there was an Atlas foundry in Ansonia, Ct (which is just outside New Haven) which specialized in gray iron. That makes it a bit of a mystery piece (the handle design also looks quite a bit like BSR adding to the mystery), but in any case you don’t find many of these square skillets with the four egg compartments. Oddly enough this is the second one of these I’ve run across (after never seeing one in over a decade of looking) in the last month or so.
