Good user skillet for someone looking for something better than modern cast iron. It appears to be an unmarked Vollrath skillet made between 1910-1940. Sits flat and nicely polished, but it has some flaws with the cooking surface, mostly due to casting voids from inclusions in the sand mold when it was poured. Should become smooth and glassy with a little use as the voids should fill in and reduce.
Marked: “3 b” on the top of the handle
6” 1/2 diameter
Cleaned via lye method, hand buffed and seasoned with 3 layers of non-GMO canola oil.
No cracks, chips or wobble when tested on a sheet of glass. Cooking surface is smooth to the touch but not quite glassy. Marred by some light to moderate imperfections and voids. Should only improve with use.
